It also does not handle libel or slanderous defamation, class actions, requests for prejudgment remedies, most injunction requests, evictions, and medical malpractice. The Itasca County District Court offers two programs to help resolve family law cases faster and more efficiently, especially those involving divorce and child custody. The first, Early Case Management (ECM) gets a judge involved early on to identify key issues and encourage agreements. The second, Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) is a confidential, voluntary process where a neutral third party evaluates your case and offers recommendations on child custody, parenting time, and finances. You choose to participate in ENE and are not bound by the evaluator's suggestions.
