	About/Additional Info:	Pocahontas State Correctional Center is one of the newer prisons in Virginia and was opened in 2007 as a level 3 correctional facility. This prison has a capacity of 1,034 inmates and operates as a secure prison. The facility consists of four housing units, each containing three pods. Each housing units has access to counselors who are located within the unit. The visiting room, gymnasium, kitchen, dining halls, laundry, vocational and education classrooms are all located in a separate building. Pocahontas State Correctional Center is secured by a razor wire perimeter fence and over 180 cameras. Inmates can participate in technical training that includes flooring application, computer aided drafting (CAD), small engine repair, and building maintenance. Pocahontas State Correctional Center also contains two recreation yards and a medical and mental health treatment area which provides basic medical services to inmates.
