The Superior Court in Everett is Snohomish County's highest court. It has general jurisdiction over felony criminal cases, domestic relations, juvenile matters, and civil matters where the amount in dispute exceeds $75,000. This court also hears appeals from all lower courts. Courts of limited jurisdiction in the county include District and Municipal Courts. The District Court, with locations in Everett, Arlington, Monroe, and Lynnwood, handles misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, small claims ($10,000 limit), and civil matters with claims up to $75,000. Municipal Courts preside over local ordinance violations, misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and traffic or non-traffic infractions.
