Considered the best county to live in New Jersey, Camden County is a major judicial hub within the state. Citizens of the county are served by the Camden County Superior Court, Camden County Surrogate's Court, and the Municipal Courts. These courts collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order among the 522,581 residents. Camden Courts focus directly on the resolution of legal matters which include probate cases, family law cases, and criminal cases. Each court holds jurisdiction over distinct cases in the county.

The Camden Superior Court, located in Camden City, handles all civil, criminal, juvenile, and family law cases in the county. Camden Surrogate's Court is also located in Camden City. It has jurisdiction over all probate matters, including appointing estate administrators and guardians of minors. The Surrogate's Court also handles all adoption cases that occur within the county. Camden County Municipal Courts are situated in 34 municipalities in the county. Each municipal court has jurisdiction over certain criminal cases within specific city limits, including violation of municipal laws, traffic, and motor vehicles cases that do not involve serious injuries or death, violations of fish, game, and boat laws, crimes of the fourth degree, and crimes punishable by imprisonment of less than one year. They also handle felony preliminary hearings before they move the case to the Superior Court.

With a record of over 11,500 cases every year, it is obvious that Camden County is an active legal landscape. This fact, and the county's estimate of about 2,294.6 crimes per 100,000 persons, further accentuates the significance of an effective court system in Camden. Court records are public in Camden County. The County Clerk maintains the public records which can be obtained via the Judicial Electronic Document System or email. Notably, some Camden court records are exempted from public access for a variety of reasons. They include juvenile records, medical records, victim's records, internal court records, and any other record that is exempted by a prior case law.

In summary, Camden County's court system is aimed at delivering justice. Its court system spans a variety of legal matters, especially civil and criminal offenses. This makes it an integral part of its governance. With different courts offering distinct services, it is obvious that Camden County is well-equipped to handle its diverse cases, and it continues to do so grandiosely, with much diligence and transparency.
