Parking: There is limited street parking around the building, and the Metropolitan Park parking garage is available as paid parking. The Metropolitan Park parking garage is located directly north of the courthouse, with the entrance two blocks north of Lomas on 5th St. NW.
Directions: From I-25: Take the Lomas exit and go west into the downtown area. The courthouse is located at 4th and Lomas Blvd NW. There is some limited on-street parking, but the Metro Park facility is available as paid parking. It is located directly north of the courthouse with the entrance two blocks north of Lomas on 5th St. NW. From 1-40: Take the 6th St. Exit and go south to Lomas Boulevard. Restrictions: Cell phones, pagers, PDAs, computers, iPads, tablets, scanners, all camera-capable and recording-capable devices, and other electronic devices are prohibited in the courthouse. In addition, weapons of any kind, sharp instruments including; nail files, razor blades, scissors and certain types of cigarette lighters (torch lighters) will be confiscated. About / Additional Info: The Bernalillo Metropolitan Court is the only Metropolitan Court in New Mexico. It is very similar to the magistrate courts, but it is located specifically in Bernalillo County and has jurisdiction over cases including landlord-tenant rights, traffic violations and preliminary felony hearings. The court was established in 1980 to combine the jurisdiction of the Albuquerque Municipal Court, Bernalillo County Magistrate Court and the Bernalillo County Small Claims Court.
