The largest county in Florida by land area and fourth-largest by total area, Collier County has a population of 380,221 people, and its county seat is in East Naples. The Collier County trial court system is composed of a Circuit Court and a County Court. Even though the county's Circuit Court has complete jurisdiction over all civil and criminal matters, it typically takes on cases that are not within the County Court's jurisdiction. Only a restricted range of criminal and civil cases may be heard by its County Court.

Restrictions: Persons entering the Collier County Courthouse are subject to a physical search of their person and handheld possessions. Handheld possessions may include purses, wallets, luggage, wheelchairs, baby carriers, toolboxes, cell phones, pagers, briefcases, packages, etc. Persons who refuse to be searched shall be denied access to the Courthouse. Weapons, hazardous materials, and contraband are strictly prohibited and may be confiscated. Among the items prohibited from the Courthouse include guns, knives/bladed instruments, ammunition, batons/clubs, tasers/stun guns, chemical sprays, illegal drugs, as well as any other type of dangerous or hazardous material or property.
