The Probate Court has exclusive jurisdiction in estate administration and probate of wills and is also authorized to issue marriage and weapon carry licenses. Equally, the Magistrate Court holds hearings for both criminal and civil cases but its jurisdiction is limited to civil cases under $15,000, felony preliminary hearings, debt collection, and dispossessory proceedings. The Municipal Court hears dispossessory proceedings, civil cases with an amount not exceeding $15,000, and traffic ordinance violations, but only within city limits. All cases involving juvenile delinquency, dependency, child neglect, and child abuse are heard in the Juvenile Court.
