Saline County, Arkansas

Saline County is included in the central Arkansas region. It was formed on November 2, 1835. A population of 123,988 people according to the 2022 census live in Saline county. It was named after the salt water (brine) springs in the area. Benton is its county seat and largest city. One Circuit Court and seven District Courts employ the body of knowledge used overtime in legal practices in settling matters in courts and prevent the future occurrences of disputes. Saline county is in the 28th Judicial District.

Located in Benton, the Saline county circuit court is a general jurisdiction court and its area of expertise is in criminal, civil, probate, domestic relations, and juvenile cases. The District Courts which were formally Municipal Courts before the passage of Amendment 80, conduct felony preliminary hearings, hear misdemeanor criminal offenses, and civil cases in which the amount of money in controversy is $25,000 and less. The Bryant Court has a Small Claims Division in which attorneys are not allowed to represent litigants but litigants represent themselves in minor dispute cases.
