Henry County, Illinois
Formed out of Fulton County, Illinois in 1825, Henry County has a population of over 49,157, and its county seat is in Cambridge. Henry County is included in the Davenport-Moline-Rock Island, Metropolitan Statistical Area. Henry County is within the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit. Henry County's trial court system consists solely of Circuit Courts. Circuit Courts have comprehensive authority over the majority of cases in Henry County's unified trial court system.
Cases including civil, criminal, probate, traffic, domestic relations, and juvenile matters are heard by the Henry County Circuit Courts, located in Cambridge and Kewanee. For the majority of civil matters involving $10,000 or less in dispute, Circuit Courts have a streamlined Small Claims process that is effective in resolving such cases. The US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit hears appeals from the Central District.
